Regional Head of Valuations (Leading European Insurer)

Reporting into the Regional Chief Actuary, you will lead a team of two experienced actuaries with a focus of acting as a conduit between the hardcore numbers and the senior management interpreting those numbers into commercial business sense.

From a regional strategic prospective you will be working closely with the local BU heads and GM's. This role has a strategic flavor to it as there is broad responsibilities that you will have ownership of, advising senior management on building policies, standards and adjust the reserving to ultimately optimize capital.

The key to success in this role is the ability to identify technical issues affecting the business and to take a proactive role in helping to correct and drive the business forward towards profitability and sustainability. To achieve this, the role holder must be able to understand the local country business environment, regulations and practices, analytic and ability to identify areas of concern, must be firm and cautious in monitoring and controlling but at the same time, resourceful and proactive in providing effective support and recommendations.

My client is looking for a fully qualified life actuary with at least 12 years of experience, previous management skills and prophet knowledge will be highly advantageous. Candidates with solid exposure to the China market will also be preferred.
