Senior Internal Model Developer

A leading life insurance company is looking for an actuarial individual to join their Dublin team as a Senior Internal Model Developer. The company is going through a transformation period, so this is an exciting and challenging time to join as the organisation are at the start of developing their internal model. The Internal Model Project will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to work with senor individuals and actuaries to gain unique insight into this area of work.

The main duties of this Senior Internal Model Developer include but are not limited to the following: 

• Owning the market risk module/analysis aggregation and leading the junior team members to ensure that the technical aspects of the model are developed 
• Source an appropriate ESG 
• Develop an internal control framework, model validation policy, model change policy and use-test policy 
• Create an internal model application pack including a suite of documentation 
• Report progress to Internal Model Steering Committee and Solvency II Committee 

The successful applicant should have a mathematical background with experience in modelling. Candidates should have experience of the Life insurance industry.  Our client appreciates that not many people have strong internal model development experience and will look at candidate with strong knowledge of Solvency II regulations, SCR, probability distributions and parameterisation of ESGs.  

The company are investing heavily in new software through a combined approach of external selection and internal technical development in combination with the IT team. Candidates with, experience of R would be beneficial.
