Our Client is seeking to employ a number of Part-qualified actuaries for their Client Solutions team. This opportunity is with one of Ireland's leading life insurers, bringing therefore with it fantastic career development opportunities in a fast-moving environment.

In this role you will gain an in-depth knowledge of investment fund administration, as well as an understanding of pricing and trading. The role will involve working with large players in the European Insurance sector and allow you to develop your consulting, project management, business analysis and IT skills.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Driving product development
  • Working with Corporate Customers to translate their vision into products 
  • Developing an understanding of our client’s products and processes
  • Working collaboratively across the organisation 
  • Providing advice on the design and implementation of new products/funds/features
  • Analysing business processes, input into process design and assisting with deployment of more efficient and automated operating models to reduce manual intervention and operating risks for both our Client and their Corporate Customers

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • A minimum of a 2.1 degree in a course with significant mathematical content (Actuarial Science, Data Science, Finance, Physics etc)
  • Experience of or a strong interest in IT, SQL, Data Analytics, Robotics and Automation 
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritise
  • Desire to work within a team and cross functionally
  • Experience of or a strong interest in Life Assurance or Investments

Experience of any of the following would be an advantage but is not essential: Product development, unit pricing, fund administration, system analysis, process re-engineering, software development lifecycle, project management life cycle.

He operated at all levels over his career, from student life actuary, to underwriting director, to head of the non-life arm of a large Irish Actuarial consultancy. He was also very active in the Irish Society of Actuaries, and among other things, had the honour of serving two terms on Council, as well as chair of the general insurance committee. 

As a result, Ger has gained a unique insight into what both employers and actuarial, data scientists and risk professionals are seeking from each other. He has very extensive and trusted contacts both in companies and in the actuarial, data analytics and risk communities.
