Actuarial Trainee
I am looking for an Actuarial Trainee to join a major life insurance based in Edinburgh on a permanent basis. You will work alongside experienced actuaries and undertake technical analysis using complex actuarial and analytical techniques in accordance with agreed guidelines and methodology.
Responsibilities:
- Checks work of a technical or complex nature, providing feedback to the originator.
- Identifies areas in processes which have a high level of risk or control failure and escalates to team manager, with suggestions for improvements.
- Assist in the completion of sections of reports and documentation, by obtaining or calculating data as required.
- Maintain the systems/processes used within the required level of governance.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Maths / Statistics or similar relevant subject or working towards taking CT exams
- Ability to manage own workload and own priorities
- Good verbal, written and listening communication skills
- You should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in working as an actuary
- Understanding of the career path / qualifications and development needs associated with this role and a willingness to invest time into achieving the required qualifications
