Background

Our Client is a cross-border life insurer with products sold into several major European insurance markets. Its sells both Variable Annuity products, and a range of unit-linked and protection products.

Our Client is now looking to recruit a HoAF/Reporting Actuary. The HoAF will be a member of Board of Management looking after a book of approximately €20bn of policyholder assets.  The current team is planned to grow to more than 15 in the next 2 years.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a key role in the management and development of the Actuarial Function. He/she will provide assessments of the Company’s product strategy and will support the Product Approval and Oversight Committee. He/she will also run the Model Change and Reserve Committee, and represent the Actuarial Function at the Board and relevant sub-committees.

Appropriate training will be provided as required to assist the candidate's career development.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Actuarial Reports and Opinions
  • Management of projections for input to planning, the ORSA and related actuarial analyses
  • Input to and review of relevant QRTs and NSTs
  • Management of calculation/review of IFRS and Solvency II Technical Provisions
  • Steering of experience investigations and review of assumptions
  • Oversight of data quality assessments
  • Review and updates of relevant related policy documents
  • Actuarial support for product development and product strategy
  • Oversight of IFRS 9/17 project
  • Attendance at Board, Risk Committee, Audit Committee and management committees and meetings, as required
  • Attendance at Board of Management meetings
  • Interaction with External Auditors and Peer Reviewers
  • Interaction with Group Actuarial
  • Interaction with the CBI and other authorities
