Due to continued expansion the York Management School (TYMS) is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Actuarial Science. We want to appoint a qualified actuary or an outstanding academic who can contribute to teaching on the BSc Actuarial Science degree. The position is available either as a Teaching & Scholarship post or as a Research & Teaching post. The degree is accredited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and is run jointly with the Department of Mathematics.

For the Teaching & Scholarship position you will want to develop and apply innovative teaching techniques and materials which create understanding and enthusiasm amongst students, and to carry out on-going curriculum reviews of the BSc Actuarial Science degree. The Teaching & Scholarship position may appeal to an IFoA member who has professional experience as an actuary.  

For the Research & Teaching position it is important is that you are capable of delivering excellent research that advances your subject area nationally and internationally and contributes to the School mission which is to become a leading business school for interdisciplinary research. Additionally, you will be collegiate and committed to enhancing the student experience through the delivery of an excellent teaching and learning experience for all our undergraduates and postgraduates.
