The role is part of the Commercial Pricing team and involves providing pricing information, advice and services to support profitable business development and effective operational management. This job involve supporting statistical rate reviews of Commercial products. You will spend the majority of your time on the development of pricing algorithms, engaging with stakeholders around delivery and usage of rates and monitoring pricing performance. 

You will be office based, working face to face and remotely with customers and technology experts. You will have good communication skills.

Role Requirements

Building and operating actuarial and statistical models to meet business needs and requirements, ensuring methods and assumptions used are appropriate and consistent with relevant guidelines .

  • Contributing to product pricing development through the provision of appropriate commercial actuarial advice and services. 
  • Developing actuarial/pricing models as required to support and inform business activities and decisions. 
  • Conducting actuarial analyses as required, including working with limited data, to produce timely, accurate, insightful and commercially appropriate outputs. 
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with underwriters and portfolio management. 
  • Responsibilities

  • Quality of information, statistical models and advice provided 
  • Personal contribution to team productivity 
  • Feedback from internal ‘customers’ and ‘suppliers’ on quality and support 
  • Operational efficiency 
  • Compliance with relevant legal, regulatory and policy requirements
  • Portfolio performance 

The Individual

  • The role is based in London 
  • Strong numeracy skills and understanding of statistical analysis 
  • Basic programming skills
  • Good technology skills (pricing and data tools eg:,Excel , Emblem, RADAR, VBA R etc) 
  • Making good progress through the actuarial exams or 2-3 years pricing experience
