IFRS 17 Actuary

Main responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to design and deliver solutions to reduce/streamline/remove out of model adjustments
• Design and develop efficient processes to combine OOMAs with modelled results to meet ambitious reporting deadlines in future
• Play an active role in discussions with senior stakeholders e.g. Head of Financial Reporting for Insurance business
• Develop detailed cashflow projections for individual OOMAs

Essential skills/behaviours

• Qualified actuary (or similar level of experience) with UK Life Insurance experience
• Experience of actuarial reporting for a Life Insurer including the need for OOMAs
• Ability to generate a range of options, to keep an open mind and a desire to meet deeper customer requirements
• Ability to concisely articulate the advantages and disadvantages of options
• Ability to communicate technical detail to a range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing

Desirable skills/behaviours

• Understanding of control environments for financial reporting
• Good understanding of IFRS17 requirements
• Understanding of capabilities of Prophet (coding experience not necessary)
• Experience of design or implementation of process change
