Senior Actuarial Analyst - Life
The role provides an excellent opportunity to get involved with the many aspects of life actuarial work that we deliver to our client including policy servicing, remediation calculations, project delivery, regulatory updates and implementation of annual, interim and final bonus rates supporting.
As a senior member of the team you will have various responsibilities which can vary depending on the time of the year. You will be supporting team members and stepping into areas outside of your own responsibilities to assist when required.
You will work on projects requiring actuarial input and will be the actuarial point of contact for projects. You will be responsible for monitoring, reporting, resourcing and the delivery of these projects. You will be leading individual projects as well as delegating projects to other members of the team who will report progress and issues to you.
At least 3-5 years’ experience in the life industry
Be flexible in travel to other client sites in the UK as and when is needed
Good understanding of life and pension products including conventional and unitised with profit products
Good working knowledge of actuarial issues and techniques
Experience in coordinating project deliverables or managing a small team
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail with the ability to provide constructive feedback to colleagues
Excellent spoken and written communication skills including the ability to communicate actuarial principles clearly and appropriately, both verbally and in writing
Proficient in MS Excel, including troubleshooting & experienced knowledge of VBA
Line management experience
Good organisational skills to plan and prioritise own and others’ workload
