Senior Valuation Actuary – J3554
A well-established reinsurance organisation is seeking a Senior Valuation Actuary to join their actuarial team. This is a newly created position to support the company’s continued development, following the successful closing of a number of large reinsurance transactions during 2017 and early 2018. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in moving into reinsurance and gaining exposure to working close to senior management. The successful candidate will gain experience with a broad spectrum of traditional reinsurance transactions, as well as more complex reinsurance solutions.
The Senior Valuation Actuary will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the design, development and planning for the implementation of Group projects, new transactions and new reporting requirements (e.g. IFRS 17).
- Developing new reporting processes and Prophet models.
- Calculating actuarial liabilities, solvency capital requirements for the quarterly earnings and capital reporting. Effectively communicating key insights and results to all stakeholders.
Ideal candidates for this Valuation Actuary role will be qualified actuaries with a minimum 3 years PQE from a life or reinsurance background, with previous reporting experience. Excellent communication skills are essential and previous experience of supporting junior trainees is a distinct advantage.
