 Our client currently looking to add an actuary who will support and report directly to the Head of the Actuarial Function and the Chief Risk Officer.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong actuarial, analytical and numerical skills and a good understanding of risk management frameworks. You will be involved in managing and prioritising a broad range of activities across all aspects of actuarial and risk management in the context of a rapidly growing business. You will interact with multiple other functional areas including underwriting, finance, compliance, claims, senior management and colleagues in international offices.

Key responsibilities:-

o Perform initial calculation of quarterly claims reserves
o Perform initial calculation of quarterly and annual Solvency II technical provisions
o Develop, improve and maintain reserving and Solvency II technical provisions models
o Document processes, where required
o Support Head of Actuarial Function in providing
    Annual Opinion on Technical Provisions
    Annual opinion on underwriting policy
    Annual opinion on reinsurance
    Annual opinion on ORSA
o Contribute to drafting the actuarial sections of the Solvency and Financial Condition Report and Regular Supervisory Report

Risk management:
o Assist the CRO in all aspects of the development, implementation, embedding and maintenance of the risk management framework across the company to ensure the company identifies monitors and manages risks in accordance with board, shareholder and regulatory expectations.
o Provide day to day advice and support to all functions on risk management matters.
o Perform initial modelling of quarterly and annual regulatory capital
o Develop and maintain risk reporting, including monitoring of risk appetite statement metrics
o Assist with developing and maintaining risk register and operational risk events / near misses register
o Assist with developing and reviewing risk management policies and procedures
o Play a key role in co-ordinating the annual and ad hoc ORSA processes, including running capital projections and running stress and scenario tests
o Prepare documentation as required
o Assist the CRO in producing papers for the Board / Risk Committee
o Contribute to drafting the risk sections of the Solvency and Financial Condition Report and Regular Supervisory Report
