Key Responsibilities:

  • Mid-Corporate pricing excellence development on topics like underwriting data requirements, risk modelling, and underwriting/pricing process implementation. Continuous enhancement of Technical Price standards, methodology and sophistication through insights from internal and external sources. ‘Data and Analytics’ use cases to define and enhance pricing best practices
  • Drive implementation of the the company’s Technical Price System: On-site support of the business’s operating entities and respective knowledge transfer through dedicated pricing projects: data enhancement, delivery of technical price and pricing tool, portfolio assessment, monitoring and steering
  • Mid-Corporate costing/pricing tool development as part of an agile software development process. Subsequent tool implementation globally, including productive maintenance and rating parameter updates
  • Development and delivery of Commercial Lines Pricing training programs as part of the P&C Academy
  • Continuous development, enhancement and delivery of Functional Pricing Reviews and Technical Price Certification

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a comparable discipline
  • Expert knowledge in loss modelling methodologies for Commercial Property and Commercial Liability
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical and actuarial software like SAS, Emblem, and Radar. Knowledge of machine learning methods and solid programming experience in relevant languages like Python, R or SAS
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken), other languages would be a plus
  • In-depth P&C pricing knowhow gained in many years of pricing activities in a leading P&C (re)insurance company
  • Outstanding conceptional and strategic capabilities, combined with flexibility, creativity and innovation skills
  • Strong track record of delivering change in a complex business environment. Getting things done in influencing roles, i.e. when no direct reporting line exists
  • Strong communicator but also good listener and fast in understanding. Clear in articulating concerns, issues, opportunities and expectations
  • Ability to work in a team, and to train and guide team members
