Key Responsibilities:
- Support new business tenders both for UK and non-UK
- Support /lead longevity basis development both UK and non-UK
- Supporting overall longevity strategy
- Support/lead system development projects
- Occasionally supporting in force longevity management on specific pricing tasks
- Support wider commercial team as required
- Contribute to raising and improving the company’s profile within UK/Ireland as evidenced by market surveys
- Work as part of a team in order to maximize the new business opportunity for the company
- Promote Longevity within the UK office and additionally aid the Head of Longevity in the development of the UK’s Global Centre of Excellence role including working with international clients and colleagues
- Working with colleagues to manage any material operational risk failures, data/accounting issues, etc.
- Work in conjunction with the colleagues to coordinate & facilitate various internal processes
- Use desktop and other research to track new developments in the market, people changes, etc.
- Coordinating internal resources to deliver on client commitments and to ensure relevant technical experts are involved as/when needed
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Nearly qualified actuary (only two to three exams still required)
- Good progression through the exams to date
- Experience working in Life related fields (Desirable)
- Life Reinsurance experience (Desirable)
- Experience of the pensions industry (Essential)
- Direct experience of valuing DB annuity benefits (Essential)
- Direct experience of pricing or assessing longevity deals (Essential)
- Experience in an actuarial role
- Prior longevity/ pensions experience
