The actuarial recruitment team at Oliver James is supporting one of their long-standing Life-Reinsurer partners in the recruitment of a qualified actuary for one of their Pricing teams, focussing on Longevity and Savings products.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled actuary to join a specialised team focused on providing technical expertise for products related to longevity and savings. This role involves delivering high-quality pricing support and technical insights for a range of financial solutions aimed at global markets.

The position will be based in London, where the successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams and leadership to ensure client needs are met and business goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare and deliver pricing quotations
  • Analyse patterns in data to establish technical assumptions and communicate findings across departments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices and apply this expertise to refine methodologies and offer technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to secure new business, enhance relationships, and support branding initiatives.
  • Contribute to internal projects, focusing on process improvement, advanced analytical methods, and research initiatives.
  • Partner with other specialists to ensure competitive and effective pricing strategies.

    • What We're Looking For

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have strong technical experience in a pricing or analytical role, particularly within the insurance or consulting sectors.
    • Be a qualified actuary with practical post-qualification expertise.
    • Possess a strong grasp of market dynamics within the insurance industry.
    • Exhibit excellent analytical skills, with experience in interpreting and applying data insights.
