We have an exciting new opportunity for a Qualified Actuary to join a well-known company as a Financial Reporting Actuary – 12 Month FTC. This role is based in Dublin City Centre. The ideal applicant will have experience in a Life Company working in a financial reporting role and/or actuarial role or similar experience in a consultancy or audit firm.  

About the Financial Reporting Actuary role

This position is a 12 month FTC. Duties for the Financial Reporting Actuary role include (but are not limited to):  

Manager of Expert: 

  • Maintain and manage resources and risks using expert judgement, know-how and experience.  
  • Delivery of end-to-end reporting of Solvency II and IFRS 17 basis. 
  • Good judgement in delivering outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions considering the impact for customers and cost and risk.  
  • Ability to challenge upward given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture.  
  • Anticipate need for change to improve quality and efficiency of output on an ongoing basis.  
  • Accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter and expertise.  

Actuarial Skills required  

We are looking to find a Qualified Actuary with an extensive understanding of Financial Reporting with a Life background. Candidates must ideally have experience of the following:  

  • 3+ years working in a financial reporting or actuarial function role. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Great attention to detail with excellent analytical skills and the ability to overcome challenges and actively exploring opportunities. 
  • Excellent IT skills, comfortable using MS Office and a range of modelling tools.  
  • Deep understanding of Solvency II including application to Unit Linked and With Profit product sets. 
  • Hard worker with a can do attitude and the ability to excel on a team.
