Pricing and Data Actuary

We have a new opportunity for a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary join a team of highly skilled Actuaries working at a major insurance and asset management group as a Pricing and Data Actuary. The successful applicant will work cross functionally to develop and build models, use and manipulate data and improve processes. This role is based in Dublin and has a 1 day in office requirement. This is a high visibility position and we are looking for an highly adaptable and hard-working candidate. The company will consider those with an actuarial/financial background who are no longer pursuing qualification.  

About the Pricing and Data Actuary role  

In this position, you will be working as a Pricing and Data Actuary. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  

• Development of new methodologies and innovative data–driven solutions.  
• Collaborate cross functionally with a variety of the group’s teams.  
• Ability to present findings to stakeholders in an in a non-technical, understandable manner. 
• Create visual representations of data using POWER BI or matplotlib.  
• Data collection, statistical analysis, and modelling. 

Actuarial skills required

 This position would suit a Qualified Actuary (or Nearly Qualified) who has several years’ experience working in a reinsurance role. Health, GI and/or Pricing experience is advantageous. Additional skills required include:  

• Great communications skills with the ability to work as part of a team. 
• Excellent proficiency in Python is necessary, as well as SQL and R. 
• Experience with data manipulation and validation.  
• Experience building, improving and fixing models. 
• Strong Presentation and communication skills.  
• Customer focused with great time management and a precise attention to detail.
