Our client, a leading global reinsurer has an exciting upcoming opportunity as they are seeking a Valuation Actuary. This role will be part of the Valuation and Consolidation Life and Health Team. For this position we are seeking a Nearly/ Newly Qualified Actuary with 3+ years working in the (re)insurance industry. This role is based in Dublin City Centre and has a hybrid working structure. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of actuarial and valuation topics. The successful candidate will largely contribute to the regulatory reporting of the Dublin and Singapore entities.

About the Valuation Actuary role 

This role will include assisting the Head of Life Valuation Consolidation. Duties for this role include (but are not limited to): 

  • Collaborating cross functionally to analyse business developments which influence quarterly figures
  • Analysing and enhancing operational efficiency
  • Working on a variety of cross functional projects
  • Presenting various results to senior management
  • Contributing to all aspects of production of Solvency II results including SFCR
  • Contributing to the improvement and development of consolidation framework

Actuarial skills required 

This role will suit an experienced Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in (re)insurance industry, life reserving experience and ideally have experience of the following: 

  • University Degree in relevant field
  • USGAAP/ Solvency II experience
  • Experience working with statistical packages and actuarial modelling software (Desired not essential)
  • Great analytical skills, eager to collaborate and strong communication skills
  • Ability to continually deliver reports and meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of cultures and able to actively think in a complex manner
