Technical Pricing Manager

A Top 3 UK General Insurer is looking to hire a Technical Pricing Manager to lead a variety of innovation projects across core Pricing modelling, machine learning and automation. This is an excellent progression opportunity for mid-level and junior managers who are keen to lead a dynamic, multi-talented team with ever-increasing importance at the forefront of the company’s technical frontier.

Responsibilities:

• Enable the functionality of new Retail pricing propositions and business requests by leading developments to various pricing modelling systems and processes.
• Liaise with Data Science and Data Engineering team to improve Risk Pricing Models, primarily by researching and creating new tools and systems.
• Improve team/analyst efficiency by automating and streamlining processes where beneficial and appropriate.
• Guide other teams in the deployment and implementation of new pricing models.
• Monitoring of model performance and functionality.
• Mentoring and delegating to a team of 3-4 direct reports.

Skills & Experience:

• 2:1 or higher level degree in a numerate subject from Higher education.
• Knowledge of insurance risk and demand models, including statistical practice and theory.
• Previous experience of leading others.
• Broad understanding of Pricing and related insurance divisions, including reserving, underwriting, claims handling and financial analysis.
• Quick-learner. It is not essential you have technical experience in every tool used by the team, so long as you can adapt using relevant experience in an adjacent field.
• Consulting experience desirable.

Salary: Up to £85,000
