Senior Manager - New Annuity Assets (Investments)

I'm currently recruiting for a unique investments focused position at a life insurer in which your key focus will be helping a life insurer to start acquiring new asset classes to back their multi billion pound annuity book.

Most of the assets traded are private credit which match cash flows, but over time there is a hope the SII rules will soften and there will be a chance to be more ambitious in trading in new asset classes so they are seeking someone with knowledge of private credit and know how that is applied in the insurance space advisor or banker.

You will need to have excellent ability to speak in credit terms as to what the actual risks are of the actual trades of trading in any new assets.

You will advance how they better manage long-term liquidity needs within their annuity portfolio through improving quantitative analysis and delivering investment ideas to optimise liquidity requirements. You will work with banks and asset managers to design securitisation and structuring solutions which will help to originate innovative new asset classes for the annuity balance-sheet.

You will work with other actuarial and finance teams with the intention of developing insights on asset focused regulatory changes as well as asset focused strategic actuarial projects (to optimise ratings of their back-book and new business assets).

You will need to be able to write papers and influence stakeholders whilst having good quantitative skills. This is an investment focused role that will also have impact over investment manager selection.
