We have the opportunity for a nearly / newly qualified Capital Actuary to join our Actuarial & Analytics department here at Tokio Marine Kiln. You will report to the Capital Manager and will undertake actuarial analysis on capital modelling projects and assist with capital model developments.
The role includes responsibilities such as supporting the capital modelling team in delivering the Lloyds’ capital return, reporting to head office, as well as supporting the team with delivering analysis and strategic reports for the benefit of the business. You will be expected to assist with the maintenance, development and documentation of the syndicate capital models in ReMetrica, as well as with the regular production and maintenance of key performance indicators and Lloyd’s returns. You will have the opportunity to develop management information and to communicate the implications of the results of the capital modelling to the wider business. You will also be expected to take an active role in model use projects, providing insights to other departments on the business written and on the impact of business decisions.
Ideally the successful candidate will have extensive actuarial experience in the general insurance market. Some capital modelling experience is preferred, as well as a good understanding of statistical theory and capital modelling methods. Experience in other areas such as pricing, reserving, exposure management or underwriting is beneficial. The candidate will have an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and would benefit from some experience with ReMetrica or other similar modelling software. Knowledge of Python, R, SQL or other relevant coding languages is also desired.
