We have partnered with a leading Lloyd's syndicate to find them a Reserving Analyst. This position entails providing support to the Reserving Manager and Head of Reserving while closely collaborating with the various Finance teams. The successful candidate will also assist various group functions in delivering reserving, IFRS 17, SII, Reserve risk, and other actuarial-related activities as required. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • To assist the internal model parameterisation in respect of Reserving Risk in line with the agreed timetable.
  • To contribute ideas and recommendations into volatility analysis and Risk MI as required.
  • To assist the Reserving Manager with the Group's IFRS 17, reserving and technical provisions processes in compliance with the Group's Internal Policy Documents and any external regulatory requirements/standards.
  • Validation of results and consolidation of impacts across classes to assess impact at Group and Entity levels.
  • Support the valuation of technical provisions on a Solvency II basis for each BSL syndicate.
  • Support the IFRS17 implementation including the design and build of solutions as required.
  • Assist with the Reserving MI platform for supporting the reserving/technical provisions process.
  • Documentation of results.
  • To assist with and undertake production of the draft quarterly reserving study for the business unit using appropriate techniques/analysis to include calculation of best estimate reserves and currency allocations, for review by the Actuary.
  • To assist with the analysis of classes identified for targeted review, focusing on the key areas and producing draft documentation of the results.
