This role is a critical position within our clients Risk Management Actuarial team. As part of this team, you will play a key role in developing and implementing a Risk Management strategy that supports the achievement of corporate objectives, strategies, and business plans for two business units. You will be responsible for developing and embedding an effective Risk Management framework that allows for the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting of risks, ensuring stakeholder confidence.
As a Risk Actuary you will contribute to the independent validation of the Internal Model and carry out some of the non-independent validation tasks associated with it. You will also assist in the oversight of insurance risks by utilising your knowledge of complicated actuarial processes to enhance key controls or Key Risk Indicators. You will conduct independent analyses on market/industry trends and emerging themes to support and challenge forward-looking views on insurance risk.
Your role will also involve playing an active role in the preparation and management of the ORSA at least on an annual basis, rolling forward projections on P&Ls and capital requirements into future years, and displaying/commenting on results. You will be required to perform sensitivity tests on the above multi-year projections and create relevant Stress & Scenario Tests (SSTs) & Reverse Stress Tests (RSTs) to test the strength of the capital position and facilitate discussions on the key risks to both profit and capital and what mitigation is required.
As part of the Risk Management team, you will support the definition and implementation of a comprehensive Risk Strategy, contribute to the mentoring and coaching of other team members, and support other tasks, such as ORSA, SST/RST, Climate Change, and Risk Appetite.
This role is suited to a part qualified to newly qualified GI Actuary with a background in Capital.
