London Market Pricing Actuary

Our client is looking for a talented Pricing Actuary to join their London-based team and contribute to their mission of creating underwriting and investment value for their clients and shareholders.

As a Pricing Actuary based in London, reporting to the Pricing Manager, you will play a vital role in providing actuarial pricing support across multiple lines of business. Working closely with the underwriting teams, you will contribute to model maintenance, review, and recalibration, portfolio reviews, individual account pricing, reporting and analytics, and other actuarial activities as required. Your expertise will help optimise risk selection and pricing, ensuring competitiveness in the market.

Your responsibilities will include building strong working relationships within the team and across the organisation, continuously enhancing pricing tools, analysis, and processes to improve risk selection and pricing, and collecting, maintaining, and investigating pricing data, leveraging SQL queries and coding in VBA or other languages. You will collaborate with underwriters to ensure understanding of pricing models and actuarial analyses, assist in pricing individual accounts and conduct in-depth profitability analyses.

Effective communication of pricing results and trends to underwriters and senior management will be essential, as well as collaborating with the wider actuarial team to align pricing practices within the organisation. You will have the opportunity to proactively seek opportunities to develop your own technical skills and experience, while providing wider actuarial support as needed, in agreement with the Pricing Manager.

To thrive in this role, you will bring qualification as an actuary with demonstrated experience in pricing. A proven track record within the Lloyd's/London Market. You should have a proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
