Job Details
Star Actuarial, on behalf of a major insurance Group, is seeking a part-qualified actuary with experience in financial modelling to make a difference within a project-based role, delivering capital management actions to improve commercial outcomes.
In this high-profile and cross-disciplinary role, you will develop a detailed understanding of the value drivers within the BPA, individual annuity and mortgages business.
You will also drive initiatives to enhance the frequency, granularity and quality of the management information that the team uses to monitor and manage its risks, as well as to identify capital generation opportunities.
Supporting the delivery of capital management initiatives, from initial feasibility through to implementation, you will provide input to define and shape the analysis required to support the roll-out and monitoring of balance sheet optimisation initiatives, management actions, assumptions changes and modelling improvements.
With a track record of solving complex problems, the successful candidate will be keen to look at both sides of the balance sheet as well as how required capital is determined.
In addition, you will possess good systems experience and be passionate for the application of technology to solve business problems.
Fluency with programming languages and database software are desirable [VBA, R, Python, SQL, Power BI].
