Senior Pricing Actuary, Lloyds Market

Looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity in the insurance industry? Our client is looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary to lead their pricing team in the development of pricing models and analytics. As the Senior Pricing Actuary, you will play a key role in driving sustainable, profitable growth and supporting strategic initiatives across our client's many lines of business, including Casualty, Property, Energy, Aerospace, Marine, and Credit Lines.

We're looking for someone with strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and a solid understanding of good model design principles and approaches to provide best-practice modelling solutions for underwriting teams based in London and overseas offices. The role involves close collaboration with underwriting teams across the business, underwriting management, and divisional actuaries to develop modelling techniques, streamline models, and drive more data-driven insights through the use of internal and external data. As the Senior Pricing Actuary, you'll be responsible for ensuring effective model development governance.

Located within the Actuarial pricing team in London, you'll work collaboratively with underwriting teams under the guidance of the Head of Pricing, and Project Pricing Actuary. You'll also have line management responsibilities for a team focusing on model development and analytics activities.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to quickly establish familiarity with unfamiliar lines of business, pricing models, data, and workflow systems. You'll also develop pricing models and pricing analytics to meet underwriter requirements and incorporate improved insights, in line with Actuarial pricing frameworks and technological solutions platforms.

To be successful in this role, you'll need solid London Market pricing experience in model development and maintenance, management experience, strong IT skills (including comprehensive knowledge of Excel and VBA), and knowledge of R, SQL, Python, and pricing platform experience (e.g. Rulebook, EASA, Tyche). You must be a qualified actuary.
