Global Property Projects Actuary - Pricing or Capital backgrounds

Global insurance business has an opening for an actuarial student or qualified actuary to join their global property team. This is not a BAU pricing role, instead you will work on a global initiative of creating a global property pricing model working closely with the property underwriters.  This is not a heavy coding role as the company has a separate team that does this but your role will be to spec this out and provide the information to the model development team liaising with them and the business.  This is a newly created role but you will be joining a small team who have already started this journey. It's likely you will report to the global head of short-tail pricing. Our client is looking for the following: 

1. Min of 3 years commercial property experience - what does a good property model look like
2. Knowledge of SQL and R or pyhton  would be advantageous. 
3. Good communication skills part of the role will include talking to the property underwriters and also the ability to extract information from other departments

The primary responsibility will be to drive pricing related property projects striving towards a market leading view of technical pricing using modern techniques. The role grants an exciting opportunity to develop an expertise in Property pricing and as a global role, presents opportunity to travel and work across continents. You’ll regularly interact with stakeholders across the business (underwriting, cat modelling, claims) and have regular exposure to senior management.

The role will work closely with the global pricing model development team to implement a market leading property pricing model.

The role is really strategic and will include portfolio reporting, monitoring. The team is agile and the business is growing significantly. Although US property is the largest book this business writes there are significant growth plans for the EMEA property book as well.  The position can be based in London or New York and the company offers a hybrid working model.  You maybe a student actuary who has worked in commercial property pricing for the most part of your career (at least 3 years) or you could be a qualified actuary working in pricing. In addition capital actuaries who are interested in moving over to pricing - if you have looked at CAT risk you could also be a good fit.
