Job Details
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your career in the insurance industry? Our client, a leading and diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance company, is seeking a Data Analyst/Programmer to join their team.
In this role, you will be responsible for owning the processing of month-end claims and premiums data into the Reserving SQL database, including the reconciliation process, for all lines of business as part of the quarterly reserving exercise. You will also contribute to ongoing process improvements by designing and implementing solutions to automate manual processes, and improve performance of existing automated processes.
As an Analyst, you will have the opportunity to become an expert in the key procedures, tables and objects within the SQL database that are used during the quarterly reserving exercise and be able to identify how the code has generated the final datasets. You will also be a key point of contact for the Reserving Team, responding to queries in a timely fashion, particularly during the quarterly reserving exercise.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong academic record in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science or Actuarial Science, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills, organisational skills, and attention to detail. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SQL is essential.
If you're intellectually curious, able to innovate and work with people of varying backgrounds and organisational levels, and comfortable with change, then this could be the perfect role for you. Ideally you will have 18 months + experience and not necessarily be a GI Actuary? Open to those from Life, Pensions too, but must be good with data and programming.
Our client believe that the way they work is just as important as the work they do, and they are guided by their core values of respect, honesty, trust, and professionalism. They offer an exciting and challenging environment where achievement is rewarded.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic team. Apply now!
