We are proud to be working with a well reputable general insurance client for an Associate Director on a consultancy basis. 

 

The team work with underwriting carriers: London market; Syndicates at Lloyd’s; P&I clubs and other mutual; personal lines insurers; and reinsurance companies; and brokers: London market and retail.

 

Requirements

  • Qualified general insurance actuary with significant experience. Strong technical actuarial knowledge. Open minded and critical thinker. Some experience of at least two of the following in non-life insurance: reserving for accounting purposes; Solvency II Technical Provisions; Solvency II Standard Formula; Capital Modelling; ERM. Experience of IFRS 17 would also be beneficial. A willingness to get involved in new areas, including an interest in Data Science. High standard of IT literacy, including a strong working-knowledge of MS Excel and a willingness to learn additional applications (eg Access, SQL, R). Able to influence internal / externally and colleagues. Proven planning and prioritising skills. Experience with delegation and overseeing/reviewing the work of student Ability to meet deadlines, to multitask, and to work under pressure with accuracy and focus. Able to demonstrate problem solving skills. Keen to add value to our clients’ businesses. Strong organisation, communication and presentation skills. Able to follow firm’s processes and procedures. Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios. Keep ahead of regulatory change and assess the impact on clients and the opportunities for the firm
