Corporate Actuary (Protection)

Oliver James is working with a global-leading reinsurer to recruit a fully qualified actuary to join their Protection team within their Corporate Actuarial division, based in London.

You'll be providing actuarial expertise and support to the Protection Reporting Lead, to aid in the calculation, analysis and communication of quarterly Economic Capital, Bermuda Monetary Authority, IFRS and US GAAP results.

Within the business you may have the opportunity to take a lead on projects and manage other team members, whilst also being exposed to a variety of other areas, such as:

• Annual business planning
• Integrating new treaties into the valuation processes
• Development and improvements of actuarial modelling software
• Running stresses and sensitivities (e.g. as part of the annual CISSA)
• Proposing and implementing improvements to the processes within the team

This role is based in central London, and will require 2-3 days per week in the office.

To be considered for the role you will need to be a fully qualified actuary with financial reporting experience within the Life Insurance market.

Knowledge of protection products, knowledge of regulatory reporting bases such as Solvency II, UK IFRS and US GAAP is also desirable.
