Proposition Development Actuarial Lead

Location - London (Hybrid/Flexible Working)

Oliver James is exclusively partnered with a leading life insurer looking to recruit an exciting addition to their group actuarial/structuring team.

We're looking to recruit a qualified Actuary in to a Proposition Development Actuarial Lead position which is a key senior position that'll play a pivotal part in the businesses long term growth plan.

This is an opportunity for a qualified Actuary with experience in product development / propositions to work in a high profile role working with senior stakeholders across the group. Duties as follows:

• Contribute to the specification, development, strategy and testing of products and propositions including the development of numerical models, analysing a range of business data, making recommendations to Senior Management Actuaries and/or senior management to support decision making.

• Lead projects or elements of large scale projects to support the business and act as actuarial subject matter expert on strategic business or Group level projects to ensure specialist input is provided to business decision making.

• Communicate effectively with a technical actuarial audience and simplify communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent), you'll have experience with a UK life insurance business. Exposure to liability and capital modelling, with profits, reinsurance and investment strategy woudl be highly benefical.

Practical experience of actuarial modelling, including development of models for bespoke projects and exercises, and application of actuarial methodologies for setting assumptions is also a key skill required for this position.
