Head of Internal Model Change - Specialist Insurer

pmactuarial specialise in Actuarial search within UK Life insurance.  We have been asked to find a Head of Internal Model Change for a specialist insurer.

Reporting to the Head of Actuarial and Capital and working closely with the Actuarial and Capital team, this role will identify and deliver projects focusing on assumptions and methodology changes to enhance the Internal Model due to business-driven requirements and/or regulatory changes (e.g. Solvency II reforms).  As a result, the role holder will play a key role in the process for delivering any Internal Model Major/Minor model changes.  Depending on the demands of the team the role holder might also have to identify and deliver projects in other areas including Technical Provisions, IFRS and MCEV.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced qualified Actuary with the required technical skills and a knowledge of insurance assets, liabilities, capital, valuation and modelling techniques and a sound knowledge of financial markets.  You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to coach junior team members.
