Orange Malone are looking for a part qualified or nearly/newly qualified pension actuary for an exciting up and coming consultancy who have a small team based in Manchester but are part of a national business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate looking to break away from a traditional actuarial structure and work closely with the Senior Actuarial Director and Manager, where you will have the opportunity to develop your career in 3 main parts.

A third of your time assigned to 2-3 larger clients that have regular ongoing activity and interesting project work

A third of your time picking up ad hoc governance work across smaller clients

A third of your time on project work, e.g., strategy work (including member options, funding projections and buy-out support) on trustee clients, corporate work with the Senior Director in Manchester (including scheme closures, company-side valuation advice and member options feasibility and exercises) and new business/sales (including helping with new propositions, tenders, marketing and professional trustee relationships).

The exciting part about working closely with the Senior Director is that they not have scheme appointments, so gets involved in a lot of corporate work from across the firm, and has been able to spread plenty of this type of work around the team in Manchester.

Our client is offering a competitive salary, bonus and study support, but we are also keen to hear from candidates who have stopped the exams, so please get in touch if your curious to learn more in confidence as we have lots more information.
