Natural Research Lead - Climate Change Focus

Natural Research Lead Up to £100,000

A top performing Lloyd's syndicate is looking for someone to lead their Catastrophe Research Team. This role will have a focus on climate change and the successful candidate will conduct model validation to ensure the syndicate's existing models are calibrated to the current level of risk. The successful candidate will have the support of 1-2 researchers and will work alongside the Exposure Management team to understand climate-related perils and assist with reinsurance purchases.

This is a chance to become a senior leader at this syndicate, reporting directly into the Head of Exposure Management and Head of Climate Risk. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with catastrophe modelling and research with preference given to candidates who have validated models in RMS. Candidates with experience at a broker and model vendors are also invited to apply as long as they have an interest climate change and some experience working on model validation projects. Finally, the successful applicant will have strong coding skills (SQL, python, R, VBA) and the ability to explain complex ideas to non-modellers.
