Senior Insurance Risk Actuary

Arthur are proud to partner with one of the London Market’s leading reinsurers on a newly-created Insurance Risk Senior Actuary position focusing primarily on reserving and financial risk. 

Reporting directly into the Senior Manager for Insurance Risk (another new hire), you will develop close relationships with the business’ finance and actuarial functions – working on all quantitative elements of insurance risk management. Just some of the role’s initial remit and focus will include:
 

• Providing challenge to all reserving processes, inputting to external reviews and reporting as appropriate to develop and enhance outputs for the function overall in alignment with the company’s strategy
• Supporting risk management deep dives across a variety of themes depending on strategic or regulatory demands
• Reviewing the company’s financial risk processes and exposures, ensuring that the analytics generated within these teams are being put to the best strategic use by the business

Gaining the opportunity to interact with stakeholders at all levels across the business, this role will enjoy a high level of visibility – directly supporting and empowering strategic decision-making through the use of your analytics and insights. There will also be opportunities to work on broader projects within the risk management team, within a very collaborative function.

With the obvious focuses on reserving and financial risk within this role, you will need to show a good understanding of finance or reserving processes – ideally from a general insurance perspective. Aside from this, though, the company support you through both internal and external training to develop the technical and soft skill sets to develop in this role over time.
