Senior Risk Analytics Manager

Arthur are proud to be working exclusively with an emerging specialty reinsurer within the London insurance market who have released this newly-created Senior Risk Analytics Manager role as part of a project to develop their quantitative risk management capabilities – providing strategic support to the business moving forward.

With future growth plans in place, and having delivered excellent results in the last 18 months, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute directly to this company’s future success. Reporting into the Head of Risk Analytics and with the option to directly manage a Quantitative Risk Analyst, you will have exposure to projects and stakeholders spanning the entire business. This will include:

• Playing a key role in developing analytics to support the executive committee decision making process, especially in relation to strategic initiatives
• Providing analytical challenge, insight and offering risk opinions on key processes and decisions which could include business planning, future merger and acquisition opportunities and outwards reinsurance
• Leading risk management deep dives aligned to the overall business strategy which could span underwriting, portfolio optimisation, reserving, pricing, investments, exposure management and data
• Contributing to the development of all quantitative aspects of the risk management framework – focusing on streamlining processes and introducing automation wherever possible

Our client does not require you to have prior risk management experience to apply to this role but instead are looking for evidence of technical insurance experience especially in actuarial or core financial roles where you can showcase a good understanding of insurance analytics and have an overall understanding of business drivers. Added to this, you must be comfortable working and communicating with stakeholders at all levels both in terms of seniority and technical capability.
