Project Actuary (Life) - Contract - Outside IR35

Oliver James are representing a major Life Insurance client who require a qualified Life Actuary to join as a Project Actuary on an Outside IR35, day- rate contract basis

The ideal candidate will be an experienced/qualified actuary with experience in a project environment.

Previous experience modelling new products, and the ability to understand and apply theoretical methodology to practical modelling is highly desirable.

IR35 Status: Outside of IR35

Location: Flexible working/home working

Day Rate: £800-£900 per day depending on experience

Ideal experience/skills:

• A qualified Life actuary
• Understanding of Solvency II balance sheet (proxy modelling experience is desirable)
• Provide actuarial expertise including sign off of results and proposals/recommendations on methodology decisions
• Liaise with other project managers and other key project personnel to agree work and delivery plans and monitor thereafter
• Ensure an in-depth understanding of the project and prioritise actuarial specific issues and risks, monitoring dependencies and constraints
• Be able to effectively influence the direction of the project and keep actuarial issues on the agenda
• Be responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting on work stream progress
• Represent the work-stream and prepared to influence and challenge, whilst maintaining productive relationships
