Catastrophe Research Lead Up to £100,000

A well-known Lloyd's syndicate is expanding its catastrophe research team in their London office. This role will have a focus on climate risks and you will conduct model validation to ensure the syndicate's existing models are calibrated to the current level of risk. The successful candidate will have the support of 1-2 researchers and will work alongside the Exposure Management team to understand climate-related perils and assist with reinsurance purchases.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with catastrophe modelling and research with a focus on US natural perils. An interest in how climate change and catastrophe modelling are connected is desired. Finally, the successful applicant will have strong coding skills (SQL, R, VBA but no specific knowledge is essential) and the ability to explain complex ideas to non-modellers.
