Capital Actuary | Leading Specialty Insurance Group | Up to £110,000k + Benefits
A Leading Specialty Insurance group is looking to add a bright, resourceful, and organized Capital Actuary to their Actuarial team. This position requires initiative, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, ability to manage internal and external relationships, ability to work with senior executives, and superb communication skills. This is an ideal position for a smart, motivated individual who is passionate about delivering strategic value and work in a high powered, collaborative environment.
You’ll look to support the Head of Capital Modelling in carrying out responsibilities of the capital team in respect of Capital Modelling and Exposure Management. This will include taking individual responsibility for business deliverables, supporting the development of junior team members, and acing your core responsibilities while taking on new projects that move the team, (and your career!) forward.
What you’ll do:
- Operation of the Syndicate Internal Model.
- Parameterisation of the Model, including liaising with the Underwriting and Finance teams.
- Production and analysis of Model outputs.
- Model development work.
- Calculation of the Standard Formula.
- Validation testing and reporting, maintenance of Validation and data control frameworks.
- Communication with internal and external reviewers.
- Performing Sensitivity, Stress, Scenario and Reverse Stress tests.
- Completion of Statutory Returns: Lloyd’s LCR, Lloyd’s LCM, PRA IMO, Model Change.
- Production and presentation of internal Reports for e.g., Investment Management Group, Internal Model Team, Exposure Management Group.
- Exposure monitoring and reporting for the London Reinsurance Branch.
- Contributing to the ORSA process.
- Preparation and maintenance of internal and external documents.
- Ad hoc analysis of new investment opportunities.
- Provision of a support to the business for the design and procurement of reinsurance.
- Ad hoc analysis of new initiatives and strategic decisions.
What you have:
- Excellent knowledge and recent experience of a proprietary capital modelling package, preferably Igloo or Tyche.
- Excellent Excel, Access (or other database software) and VBA skills.
- Proficiency with R and data visualisation tools, Power BI, is desirable.
- 4+ years capital modelling experience in London Market insurance or commercial insurance or reinsurance.
- Qualified FIA, or close to qualification.
- Process driven mindset.
