Job Details
Our Large Dublin based GI Client is seeking an internal model actuary
Ideally you will have internal model experience, or alternatively a good stats background and strong programming skills
In addition, you should have approx. 2 to 3 years’ GI experience, a first-class honours degree in mathematics or related discipline, and have a strong attention to detail
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement the internal capital model to reflect the risk profile of the portfolios
- Liaise with teams supplying data and parameters to the model
- Ensure governance processes are appropriately followed and data quality standards are met
- Ensure parameterisation processes are completed in time for model use
- Communicate the output and methodology to all stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation
You will report to the Head of Capital Modelling

He operated at all levels over his career, from student life actuary, to underwriting director, to head of the non-life arm of a large Irish Actuarial consultancy. He was also very active in the Irish Society of Actuaries, and among other things, had the honour of serving two terms on Council, as well as chair of the general insurance committee.
As a result, Ger has gained a unique insight into what both employers and actuarial, data scientists and risk professionals are seeking from each other. He has very extensive and trusted contacts both in companies and in the actuarial, data analytics and risk communities.
