Risk Actuary, ERM, 1st Line

Fairbank Partners seek an experienced GI Actuary, ideally you'll be qualified, or qualified by experience. 

The role of Risk Actuary/Lead in the ERM team is separate from the Risk Management/CRO team. The role sits in what is mostly a first line team. The ERM team includes Exposure Management. Casualty Risk is a new area for Exposure Management and different companies are addressing this in different ways.

Due to the extension of skillsets required to address all UW risks, Exposure Management capabilities need to span many skillsets across the business, including actuarial. 

Actuarial skills are particularly needed for the assessment of long-tail risks such as Casualty. The ERM team brings together various skillsets to assess underwriting risk.

The team would be a new team in ERM to develop the Casualty UW risk assessment. Given the importance of reserve risk for long-tail lines, feedback loop into capital modelling and pricing, the team lead should have an actuarial background.
