Pricing Actuary, Requires Python Skills

Fairbank Partners are working with a small and dynamic Reinsurance company who are recruiting for an Actuary to support its actuarial function across all business lines. Due to strong growth since its launch, the company is looking to expand its actuarial team with a newly created role, reporting directly to the Chief Actuary.

As part of a small business team, the role will provide a rare opportunity for the successful candidate to be involved in key decisions across the whole business, including those outside the traditional actuarial sphere.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Providing pricing analysis and support for execution of new and renewing deals
• Requires someone who is either already competent in Python or who has the desire to learn and become competent, since all their pricing models and systems are currently being built in Python
• Multi-line pricing model development and maintenance
• Portfolio analysis and optimization
• Data capture and analysis
• Development of pricing and rating benchmarks

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics
• 5+ years of actuarial experience in pricing or reserving, ideally focused on long-tail liability lines
• Experience in designing, building or maintaining solutions for data storage and associated analysis
• Qualified Fellow of a globally recognized actuarial organisation
