Actuarial Director

Oliver James is assisting a leading global insurance company with their search for an Actuarial Director.

This particular role would see the successful candidate reporting directly to the Group Chief Actuary, providing oversight primarily on the global reporting function.

The ideal candidate would be a fully qualified actuary with significant exposure to management in a high pressure environment. They would be responsible for:

• Implementing and maintaining standards
• Managing relationships across all group entities
• Collaborating with Modelling teams
• Signing off on all work before handovers to end clients
• Work with other senior managers to set policies and procedures
• Contribute to innovative success strategies
• Ownership of actuarial reporting function framework as a whole
• Providing support, mentorship & guidance to all members of the actuarial group function

Skills Required:

• Qualified Actuary with 5+ years PQE experience
• Life Insurance / Reinsurance background essential
• Significant exposure to actuarial reporting, ideally on a management/leadership level
• Knowledge of cash flow modelling, balance sheets etc
• Ability to liaise with key stakeholders
• Decisive, quick thinking and able to work under pressure
• Strong leadership qualities are vital to this role - you will be responsible for making group wide decisions affecting complete teams
