Senior Validation Actuary

Our client, a leading global (re)insurer, part of the top-10 insurance groups, operating primarily in the Lloyd’s, London, European and Bermudan markets is seeking a Senior Validation Actuary.

This is a wonderful opportunity whereby the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the activities of the Validation team which is primarily focused on addressing the viability of the Internal Model against the wider Risk profile. This will include the assessment of the model processes as well as the data and model results. It is imperative that the selected candidate can make sure that the work is compliant within the relevant regulatory requirements and meets the benchmark actuarial standards. The role also supports wider aspects of the Risk team’s activities and may include reviewing various pricing, reserving, investment, and business planning elements.

The role would be well suited to a qualified or very nearly qualified student Actuary with significant relevant experience, ideally within the non-life Insurance sector. Experience in one or more actuarial areas (inclusive of capital modelling) would be highly desirable. The selected candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and will be an excellent all-round communicator who is able to explain complex ideas clearly and confidently. 

An understanding and flair for technical coding (Igloo or Tyche in particular) would be highly advantageous however not essential.
