Capital Modelling Actuary

Our client is a renowned Lloyd’s Syndicate and Members Agency, forming part of a larger re-insurance group seeking a nearly/newly qualified Capital Modelling Actuary to enhance their Capital Modelling team. There will be the opportunity, if required, to first mentor and then manage a team. Those without prior management experience will be considered and the role would be well suited to someone who desires plenty of opportunity for growth within a team and an environment focused on learning and both personal, and professional development. An official actuarial qualification is not a pre-requisite for the role and those qualified by experience will be considered.

This is a fantastic opportunity where the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operation of capital models for all managed Syndicates. You will be confident producing regulatory returns such as the LCR, LCM, RDS, and PRA Risk Information templates and will be able to support the Solvency II initiatives. You will be responsible for the further enhancement of the model use throughout the business and the parameterisation of capital models for all managed Syndicates.

The selected candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and will be an excellent all-round communicator who is able to explain complex ideas clearly and confidently.  Prior knowledge of capital modelling techniques is essential and previous experience of the London Market would be   desirable. Excellent computing skills are essential and competency in use of office IT applications such as Igloo and R is highly sought after.

The client is offering a flexible working pattern, with at least three days a week being office based and the remainder remotely. They are keen for the successful candidate to have the opportunity to be able to socialise with colleagues and have a structure, whilst also being able to maintain independence and flexibility. Full study support will be offered.
