Oliver James are supporting a major Life Insurer who are looking to engage multiple senior Life Actuaries as contractors on their IFRS 17 Project to support with Financial Impact Assessment.
Duration: 9-12 month initial contract + extensions
Rates: £900-1150 per day
Status: Inside IR35 - you will be engaged via an Umbrella company
Start: ASAP - can accommodate notice periods
Location: Remote working (Must be UK resident), access to regional offices if desired
Purpose of the Role:
Support the overall delivery of the IFRS17 change project ensuring the client are compliant with the new mandatory IFRS17 requirements and ready for implementation on 1 January 2023
The contractor will have a critical role in helping produce analysis and reports to demonstrate the impact of IFRS17 on the business, which largely determines the impact of IFRS17 on the Group as a whole.
This will include but is not limited to assessing the impact of IFRS17 on individual cell profits, working with the business so they understand the impacts of IFRS17 and helping embed IFRS17 into BAU.
- Qualified actuary (or equivalent by experience) with financial reporting experience or detailed knowledge of one or more specific product(s) affected by IFRS17, i.e. Annuities, Protection or With-Profits
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to summarise key information
- Very strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with colleagues from across the business
- An awareness of the new IFRS 17 standard would be advantageous but can be learned in role
