Fairbank Partners are working with a leading Life Insurer to find an Interim Stress and Scenario Testing Manager, Insurance Risk

Insurance capital regimes are increasingly becoming risk based with regulators expecting insurance companies to form their own views on risk quantification and capital requirements.  In particular, regulators mandate that insurance companies perform an Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) which considers the impacts of all key quantitative and qualitative risk exposures on the firm’s capital balance sheet on a forward looking basis, and the regulatory accountability for the ORSA sits with the CRO. This results in greater emphasis being placed on stress and scenario testing and the need for these analyses to be of high quality and well controlled.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that appropriate and consistent standards for the use of stress and scenario testing are implemented across the Insurance manufacturing sites.

One element of the role is to set and maintain policy and framework in this area so that modelled scenarios are relevant for Insurance, are consistent across the business and align with approaches taken by the wider Bank.  Another important element is to champion greater use of stress and scenario testing techniques, developing Insurance-specific stress tests from time to time, linking stress testing results into insurance capital frameworks and improving the quality of stress test reporting to local insurance regulators.
