Investment Credit Analyst, Insurance Risk- Interim

Fairbank Partners are working with a leading Life Insurer to find an interim Investment Credit Analyst

To provide subject matter expertise and specialist resource within the Insurance Risk sub-function to assist the Insurance CRO oversee credit risks within the Insurance business.  The principal credit risks are in respect of bond investments for which this role will liaise with WMR technical experts to provide risk advice and insight to the Insurance business and Insurance Risk.  Other credit risks exist from reinsurance counterparties and other third parties (eg technology suppliers covering both system support to the business and SaaS, next generation partners as the business expands into health and wellness ecosystems, and sales distribution partners) and this role will also provide credit advice to Insurance Risk on these counterparties. 

The Role serves as the focal point for credit-related matters within Insurance Risk with the Roleholder working with technical credit specialists in WMR and with first line investment teams.  Aside from providing specialist advice to Insurance Risk, the Roleholder will also be responsible for leading regular reviews of credit exposure MI and for developing and maintaining an Insurance-owned IFRS9 model for ECL calculations on bond investments.
