Arthur Financial is delighted to partner with actuarial consulting business, APR, in their expansion in the non-life insurance market.

Already a highly successful organisation and a well-known brand in the life insurance market, they have seen strong growth in non-life insurance projects with nearly 25% of their work in this area.  In light of this, a senior actuarial hire is required to lead current client engagements and take advantage of future opportunities within the non-life insurance market.

APR’s non-life work offers a broad range of duties, which includes London market pricing work as part of a strategic relationship with a pricing technology business.  However, this opportunity provides the autonomy to develop client relationships across the non-life space, taking in reserving, capital modelling, analytics and other associated areas.  At present, clients are largely from the Lloyd’s/London market but developing relationships in other parts of the market is encouraged.

You will be an advisor to APR’s partners on the non-life market, affecting strategy and promoting ideas for revenue growth.  This is a rare opportunity to take on responsibility for client delivery in a well-established organisation that promotes an entrepreneurial spirit, in a position that will shape this practice moving forwards.

To be successful in securing this position, you are expected to be a qualified actuary (or similar experience) with experience in the UK non-life market.  Experience in pricing for Lloyd’s/London market businesses is required, with good skills in reserving and/or capital modelling advantageous.  Non-technical skills are just as important in this position which will include developing and motivating a team of part/qualified actuaries that is recognised within the industry for its quality; developing relationships with a wide-range of stakeholders and delivering the best solution for new and existing clients.
