Senior Actuary/Risk Specialist
HFG are assisting with the search for a senior actuary/risk specialist to join a general insurance risk specialists department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced actuary who is interested in regulatory to join a team that will offer them a wide range of exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship and stakeholder management, including experience of regular interaction with C-level executives.
- Explain complex technical issues in a simple and accessible manner, using a combination of written, spoken and numerically based communication approaches.
- Work closely with both Supervision and Policy colleagues, reaching out to other areas where appropriate, in the assessment of the risks that firms and their operation within the market present.
Key Requirements
- Professional qualification (IFoA or CII) desirable
- Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and supervisory approach including Solvency II.
- Strong actuarial/technical competence in an insurance discipline, such as risk management, underwriting, capital modelling, reserving, reinsurance or exposure management
- Ability to manage and coach more junior staff.
