A global asset manager is looking for a Balance Sheet Associate to be responsible for supporting client management and balance sheet management of their key insurance clients.
The role will also involve:
• Support with the development of the strategic asset allocation for client entities by supporting efforts around portfolio rebalancing, duration management and exposures analysis
• Support Balance Sheet Managers in their day-to-day interactions with local company investment offices through preparation of analysis and reporting
• Help educate client entities of new investment strategy and support governance efforts including group/ local investment committees. The entities span different countries and regulatory regimes (Solvency II, Solvency I, Bermuda)
• Provide support on the structuring, execution and monitoring of portfolio hedging and rebalancing solutions
• Assist in the preparation of Management Information and bespoke analysis
Ideally you'll have between 3-6 yrs experience in portfolio management at an insurance and/or investment management firm.
Also:
• Proficiency and exposure across liquid fixed income markets and synthetic derivative instruments.
• Strong understanding of insurance specific asset management tenets like ALM and capital management
• Deep understanding of fixed income principles, macro market indicators and risk factors
• Experience of independently performing detailed analysis that highlights portfolio risk
• Ability to perform under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Academic background in finance, mathematics, physics or equivalent
• Effective communication skills, verbal, and written
• Working proficiency in German, Dutch, or another Western European language is a plus
